Company of Thieves has it all. Two amazing albums with absolutely no fillers, mesmerizing vocals on top of devilishly good guitar licks, and a stage presence that captivates audiences.
It’s also given me a quote about how I’d want my eventual mortality to arrive:
I’d like to die with the songs I like stuck in my head.
This is a band I always include in my roadtrip playlists, and always keep fully synced to my iPhone. Both of their albums, back to back, are in my “go-to”s list for when I crave some really damn good music.
Their AudioTree session is also a great pomodoro helper, for when I want to focus on a task—it’s a creativity booster and a time keeper.
Not only do they have very polished albums and beautiful live studio recordings, but they also sound amazing on stage…
…as well as atop a mountain:
My only regret is never having seen them live in-person.
They did disband in 2014, only to announce a reunion in 2017, accompanied by a new EP. Here’s to hoping they are truly back, and get to play live once again when all this pandemic madness is over.
