Remy Zero

Prophecy

I’m the keeper of the songs of everyone.

Remy Zero songs seems to have a strange harmony. It feels like all instruments just go their own way, only to fall into line and into step like they have no other choice. Like fate brings them together.

Thus, every song feels like a jamming session. It feels raw and energetic. Thoughtful, yet effortless.

They’re most famous for providing the title theme for TV series Smallville. The part taken from their song Save Me feels very different to when listened as part of the whole song though. With the chaotic parts left out, it almost feels like a Radio Mix version.

3 years after they’ve disbanded, Zach Braff featured them as part of a promo for his movie The Last Kiss. 3/5th of Remy Zero, doing an acoustic set for the livestream, and Braff geeking out to his clearly favorite band coming together back for him was something to watch. I’m glad I could witness it, I’m sad that I cannot seem to find it, and I’d be very happy if a fellow datahoarder has a copy of it!

Until then, we’ll at least have these weird videos of them.
