Late 90s/early 2000s feeling lovey-dovey, mixtape worthy songs? Jude’s the artist you’re looking for.
Music supervisors of hit TV shows and movies of the era, such as Felicity and City of Angels, also seem to agree.
What I remember from the time is that, Jude could never win. People found his songs overproduced. Then overproduced. They said he didn’t promote enough. They said he was a sellout.
His songs invited this kind of criticism too, I guess. Some of his songs are too self-deprecating. Doesn’t make the comments any right, or deserved, though.
Oh and, he also covers. So well that, in fact, I did not know that this song was a cover until about an hour ago. (Really, just learned it as I was searching for the song.)
