I’d like to introduce you to one of my all time favorite bands, and in my opinion, one of the Top 5 Rock Bands in the world.
It was a different time, when I discovered Bettie Serveert. You couldn’t just launch Spotify or YouTube to listen to all their songs. If they were relatively obscure, you also couldn’t find them on Napster or eMule. And sometimes, they wouldn’t even have a personal site.
Thankfully, Bettie’s had the latter. And at one go, I bought any available album they had on the site. Attagirl, Lamprey, Bare Stripped Naked, and the last copy they had of Palomine.
After that, music availability improved worldwide. First iTunes Music Store became available wherever I was in the world at the time (I moved around a lot), and then there was Spotify. They just kept releasing new music, and it—thankfully—started to become available everywhere, instantly.
Every album is a breath of fresh air. They’ve got slick hard rock songs, they’ve got acoustic love ballads, and they’ve got radio-primed pop pieces. Whatever you’re in the mood for, Bettie’s have you covered.
Now wear your soul on your sleeve today and hope it shows what you mean to say.
Oh and they also do amazing covers that become even more popular than the original, because of course they do.
